5 days Tanzania & gorilla trek offers true African adventure inclusive of guided game viewing (wildebeest migration) and mountain gorilla trekking. Wildebeest migration and gorilla trekking are without doubt the premier experiences on African safaris and in Tanzania, you will be visiting Serengeti National Park and in Uganda, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Serengeti National Park lies within the Northern tourist circuit of Tanzania and it is where you will enjoy the dramatic wildebeest migration. Popular for its large herds of plains animals especially wildebeest, zebras, gazelles and also the big five, 500 bird species, etc, Serengeti National Park is also recognized as the UNESCO Heritage Site.

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is one of the world’s treasured mountain gorilla trekking destinations. Established in 1991 and later recognized as UNESCO Site in 1994, Bwindi is a home to 459 mountain gorillas, chimpanzees plus other primates, 360 bird species, forest elephants, buffaloes, etc. Your wildlife and gorilla adventure begins from Arusha Tanzania and ends in Kampala/Entebbe Uganda.

Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Drive to Serengeti National Park

Start your Tanzania holiday with an early breakfast, after leave Arusha for Serengeti National Park located in the Northern circuit. Arrive at Serengeti early and you will embark on late game drive with opportunity to encounter diversity of wildlife. The Serengeti National Park animal sightings to expect include zebras, wildebeest, elands, cheetahs, lions, hyenas, elephants, buffaloes, rhinos, gazelles, birds, baboons, giraffes, etc.

Day 2: Game drive Serengeti NP & drive back to Arusha

Set off for a guided game drive with packed breakfast and you will be exploring the endless plains of Serengeti National Park. Expect to keep an eye on animal sightings such as wildebeest, gazelles, elands, zebras, big cats and other wildlife. After, drive back to check out of the lodge and transfer to Arusha town in Tanzania.

Day 3: Fly to Entebbe & drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Pick up at a hotel in Arusha and fly to Entebbe where you will again connect to Bwindi using Aero Link to Kihihi/Kisoro airstrip. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is situated in the far Southwestern Uganda, about 2 hours by flight. From Bwindi, meet your driver guide for pick up and transfer to Bwindi for overnight stay.

Day 4: Gorilla trekking & relaxation at Lake Bunyonyi/Batwa visit

Enjoy breakfast and after, you proceed to briefing point that is at the 4 gorilla trekking regions (Buhoma, Rushaga, Ruhija and Nkuringo) in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Briefing includes getting insight into the gorilla trekking rules, allocation of gorilla family and park guide. By 8:00am, you plus the trained Bwindi Impenetrable National Park guide to lead you through 2-6 hours trek to see mountain gorillas in the wild.

If Buhoma is your favorite sector, you will visit any of its 4 habituated gorilla families: Habinyanja, Mubare, Rushegura and Katwe. An hour will be allowed for you to enjoy a close encounter with any of the gorilla families you get assigned to today and after, return to have relaxation at the lodge. In the evening, you can opt for Batwa cultural experience or Lake Bunyonyi excursion to chill at its shores or swim.

Day 5: Bwindi – Entebbe/Kampala

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Kampala or Entebbe in a 4×4 safari car. En-route lunch will be enjoyed in the car (exit the lodge with some packed food), at Equator, a stopover will be made for photography then make final journey to Kampala/Entebbe.
