7 Days Rwanda Uganda Wildlife Safari starts from Rwanda with gorilla trekking in Volcanoes national park and cross to Uganda to Queen Elizabeth National park the best park to see the rare tree climbing lions, large hippo concentrations, and elephants along the Kazinga channel and later transfer to Kibale national park the best place to track habituated chimpanzees – our closes relatives.

Day 1: Pick Up for City Tour – Volcanoes NP
Our company tour guide will pick you up from either the airport or your hotel in Kigali to begine your Rwanda Tour. You will begin the day with a Kigali city tour which will take you to the Gisozi genocide memorial site where you will learn first hand information of the horrific genocide. The city tour will also take you to local markets, craft shops, local markets and later you will have lunch before you head on a 2 hours drive to volcanoes national park, driving through beautiful views of rolling hill of the Volcanoes national park.Dinner and overnight at Muhabura Guest House (Budget)/Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge (Mid range) / Mountain Gorilla View Lodge (Luxury)

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes NP – Visit Lakes Burera & Ruhondo
Up early for breakfast at your hotel, with a lunch pack, drive to the park head offices with your tour guide. Be at the park headquarters by 7:30 for registration, and a briefing about the do’s and don’t of meet gorillas. This is a standard precaution to protect the health of the mountain gorillas and the visitors. You will also be divided in groups of 8 people depending on your level of fitness.
After the Briefing and assigning a gorilla group to trek, you will drive to the head trail of your gorilla group where the trek will begin. At this point you will descend into the forest with a lead from an experienced local guide who will be in position to answer all your question as you trek in search for your gorilla family. This trek can last from 30 minutes to 6 hours hiking through bamboo trees. The length of your trek depends on how far into the forest your gorilla group has moved. Once you meet the gorillas, only one hour is allowed with the gentle species so as not to exhaust them. In this one hour, you are allowed to take pictures, video recording but don’t forget to take time and take in this magical moment!
Once the hour is done, descend back to the head trail where you entered the forest from.
In The afternoon have an optional tour of the Lake Burera and Ruhondo located within the vicinity of Volcanoes national park.Dinner and overnight at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge(Luxury)/La palme Hotel(Deluxe)/Muhabura Hotel(Budget)

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National park
Early breakfast at your hotel before you drive back into Kigali and later cross into Uganda. The drive to Queen Elizabeth national park takes you through Uganda’s beautiful countryside with scenic vies of tea plantations, rolling hills and arriving in Queen Elizabeth in time for lunch. En route you will have a game drive through the Ishasha sector of the park where you will have a unique opportunity to view tree climbing lions driving to your hotel for Dinner and overnight at; Enganzi Lodge (budget), Marafiki safari lodge (midrange) and Mweya safari lodge (luxury)

Day 4: Morning Game Drive – Afternoon Launch Cruise
Today you will set off quite early with packed breakfast and head out for your early morning game drive to catch sight of the early risers. This is the best time to see wildlife along the Kasenyi trail. Expect to see elephants, buffaloes, lions, waterbucks, Uganda Kobs and quite a number of others. Return to your lodge for lunch. In the afternoon head out for a 2 hours launch cruise along the Kazinga channel where you will see large concentrations of wildlife along the banks of the river like hippos, elephants, buffaloes, a large number of bird species.

Day 5: Transfer to Kibale National park
Today have breakfast at your leisure at hotel and be ready to transfer to Kibale national park national park reaching in the time for lunch. In the afternoon head out for a community walk to visit the crater lakes region where you will have spectacular views of the Lakes. Dinner and overnight stay at chimpanzee guest house (budget)/crater safari lodge (mid range)/Kyaninga lodge (luxury)

Day 6: Chimpanzee Tracking –Bigodi swamp tour
You will wake very early in the morning have breakfast and get your packed lunch and then head to Kanyanchu park headquarters in Kibale forest national park where you will be allocated a guide who will brief you and you then head for chimpanzee tracking in the forest. Kibale forest national park is called the primate capital of east Africa because of the high primate population it has. It’s the only national park in east Africa where one can have the best primate tracking viewing the chimpanzee man’s closest primate and many other primates like monkeys plus a number of bird species.

You will get chance to have your lunch in the wild as you listen to the sights and sounds of the forest. After tracking, you will return to the park headquarters, relax a bit and head to the Bigodi wetlands if you are interested in birding or visit the Bigodi community for community tourism and later return to your lodge

Day 7: Visit the crater lakes region and transfer back to Kigali
Have an early breakfast and drive through the great rift valley region for a beautiful scenery due to the many crater lakes found there, and later drive back to Kigali having lunch en route.
