Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Serengeti National Park for wildebeests & big five

Travel to Serengeti National Park: You will be picked up at the hotel in Arusha and drive for 7-8 hours to Serengeti National Park located in the Northern circuit of Tanzania. Serengeti is a recognized World Heritage Site, a home to millions of wildebeests, cheetahs, leopards, 500 bird species, lions, elephants, rhinos, buffaloes, antelopes etc.

Upon early arrival, enjoy an en-route guided game drive which comes with amazing animal sightings such as cheetahs, giraffes, elephants, hyenas, leopards, lions, birds and more. The rest of evening relaxation, dinner will be had at the lodge in Serengeti National Park.

Day 2: Extensive game viewing -Serengeti National Park

The extensive Serengeti safari today will include a game drive to watch the big five game and witnessing the wildebeest migration. A picnic lunch to be enjoyed in the wild while keeping an eye on more animals in Serengeti National Park, after, drive back to the lodge for relaxation.

Day 3: To Ngorongoro Crater

Ngorongoro Crater safari: Enjoy an early breakfast, after drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area (NCA) to explore the Ngorongoro Crater and ensure that you go with some pack of food. Arrive early and begin your long day with guided game drive to see lots of lions, cheetahs, black rhinos and later, settle for a picnic lunch. Continue with a game drive as you proceed to the Maasai Village adjacent to the park for a cultural experience.

Day 4: Game drive & drive to Arusha

Leave Ngorongoro Crater early for a game drive in Tarangire National Park which is accessible within 2 to 3 hours’ drive. Expect amazing sightings at Tarangire NP during the 2 hours of game drive including zebras, buffaloes, elephants, lions, leopards, and more then you enjoy a picnic lunch. After, continue your road trip to Arusha to check in at the hotel.

Day 5: Fly to Kigali Airport & visit Volcanoes NP

Have breakfast early and after, catch up with your flight to Kigali Airport from Arusha Airport. Lunch will be enjoyed at the classic hotel in Kigali and you proceed to Volcanoes National Park in the Northwestern side of Rwanda, 2-3 hours’ drive.

Day 6: Gorilla trekking

Gorilla trekking adventure: Enjoy an early breakfast, after you will assemble at Kinigi where briefing about gorilla trekking rules and allocation of gorilla families is done in the morning. After, set off for 2-6 hours of great search for a family of mountain gorillas the park official allocated to you. Volcanoes National Park has 12 habituated gorilla group families and only one is visited by 8 visitors each day while on gorilla safari.

One hour of close encounter is guaranteed upon finding mountain gorillas, take pictures and explore more about their behaviors. After, you will walk back to the lodge but while keeping an eye on the important creatures in the park including birds.

Community walk to Iby’Iwacu village will be in the evening after relaxation. Great entertainment from the Rwandese dances, music performance and exploring about their traditions, cultures should be expected.
