6 Days Uganda Wildlife Safari takes you to Queen Elizabeth national park and Bwindi impenetrable jungle for habituated gorilla tracking. Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National park
Early breakfast at your hotel before your tour guide picks you up from your hotel. The drive to Queen Elizabeth national park takes you through Uganda’s beautiful countryside with scenic vies of tea plantations, rolling hills and arriving in Queen Elizabeth in time for lunch. In the afternoon, you will have a game drive in the savannah and later return to your hotel for Dinner and overnight at; Enganzi Lodge (budget), Marafiki safari lodge (midrange) and Mweya safari lodge (luxury)
Day 2: Morning Game Drive – Afternoon Launch Cruise
Today you will set off quite early with packed breakfast and head out for your early morning game drive to catch sight of the early risers. This is the best time to see wildlife along the Kasenyi trail. Expect to see elephants, buffaloes, lions, waterbucks, Uganda Kobs and quite a number of others. Return to your lodge for lunch. In the afternoon head out for a 2 hours launch cruise along the Kazinga channel where you will see large concentrations of wildlife along the banks of the river like hippos, elephants, buffaloes, a large number of bird species.
Dinner and overnight at your hotel.
Day 3: Kalinzu Chimpanzee tracking – Transfer to Bwindi National Park
Wake up early for your breakfast and with your guide drive to Kalinzu forest where you will be having your chimpanzee tracking adventure. After chimps drive have lunch and hit the road to transfer to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park.
Dinner and overnight at Mahogany Springs or Gorilla Forest Camp (Luxury)/ Silverback Lodge (Midrange)/Buhoma Community Bandas or wagtail eco safari camp (Budget)
Day 4: Gorilla Trekking – Batwa Pygmies
Today is your gorilla trekking day. Wake up early for breakfast and with a packed lunch at your hotel, set off with your guide to the park head offices where you will attend a briefing session from a head guide. Trekking for gorillas in Bwindi requires visitors to be physically fit as it involves hiking for long hours. Time taken to finally meet your group may last from 1 – 8 hours depending on the movement of your group. Once you meet the gorillas, only one hour is allowed during which you get to observe, take pictures, and study how they interact with one another.
Later return back to your lodge for relaxing and later head out for a cultural visit to the Batwa pygmies’ community. The Batwa were the original forest inhabitants before they were forced away from the forest to conserve home for the endangered mountain gorillas.
Day 5: Transfer to Lake Mburo National park – Afternoon Boat Ride
Set off early after your breakfast for Lake Mburo national park. Check into your hotel on arrival and later head out for a community walk to the Salt Lick wooden platform where you will see wildlife lick salty soil. Return to your hotel for lunch and in the afternoon embark on an after lunch for afternoon boat trip on Lake Mburo its self in search for water game such as Hippos, crocodiles, birds and statunga antelopes inhabiting in papyruses surrounding the Lake.
Day 6: Morning Game Drive – Departure
Have breakfast at your hotel and set off for an early game drive in search for wildlife as they return to their hide-outs. Expect to see zebras, Impala, oribs, bafalo, sitatunga antelope and more. Return to your lodge for lunch. In the afternoon hit the road back to Kampala for departure or drop off at the airport to catch your departure flight.
